Description
The Chokwe are spread out over a wide area in the eastern Angola, southern DRC and Zambia. The Chokwe are well known for art objects produced to celebrate and validate the royal court. Most of the sculptures are portraits, which represent the royal lineage. The Chokwe sculptures were also carved to represent their beloved royal ancestors ,case in point their hero Chibinda Ilunga.The following statue has a dark patina and shows great age
